Message-ID: I wonder if some of the developers would like to participate as a team (up to 4 members) in the upcoming DC 3 forensic challenge 2012, which will start next December 15, 2011. I participated last edition as an individual, catching up in the last 2 or so months (giving so much advantage for all the elapsed time) and the challenge looks pretty good, since it will allow us to on one side use DFF along with some other tools and techniques, but also adds some cases where there's the need to develop some new tools, that will benefit DFF. I would like to get in again, so if any 3 of you would like to join me... please let me know. Here you'll have more information http://www.dc3.mil/challenge/ Regards, Pablo J. Nevertheless, I'm not sure to be able to participate yet. I'll keep you inform before it starts. Are registration definitively closed on December 15, 2011 or is possible to apply after ? Registration starts on December 15, 2011 and it's possible to apply later on. In fact, I applied just 2 or 3 before the challenge ended this year. What I suggest is to create the team and apply as soon as possible, since only once the application is approved and the team is assigned a user/password it is possible to get all the files and details regarding every exercise in the challenge. That way we may get a good idea of the scope of every exercise (the higher the score, more complex they are) and then decide what task everyone could undertake. Please keep in mind that the challenge is almost 1 year long. Hoping I would have convinced you just a little bit more :-) Pablo 2011/11/14 Fr?d?ric Baguelin : > Hi Pablo, > > As far as I'm concerned, I'm really interested in joining a team to work on > the challenge. I'm not lacking of interest but of time :) I hope to be able to participate but I won't promise it. By the way, I know development skills are needed for some of the "exercises" but why not ask on the "user" mailing list. Maybe some people will be interested to be involved in the challenge.
